Operations Director
Krzeszowice | full time | Unlimited
Your tasks
- Develop and implement the Operations strategy including service level, quality, automation, scale and COGS reduction;
- Interface and partner with functional leads across Polatis to deliver Polatis business objectives;
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products to customers, utilizing techniques that provide continuous improvement, cost reduction and total engagement by all staff.
- Act as a leader for a local team - balance people engagement, staff development, service level and achievement of gross margin growth to maximize performance of this unit;
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors in leading by example and motivating a workforce;
- Able to understand the Polatis 5-year goals and capable of translating these into plans for skills, people development and capex expenditure; plans suitable for budgetary planning;
- Partnering approach with HR and Finance to prepare for the execution of the 5-year plan, able to create opportunity for staff development and “grow our own” culture that ensures an available skills base within cost.
Your profile
- Solution focused, with an enthusiastic, “can-do” “will-do” approach: a self-starting proactivity within a fast-paced environment with a drive to “make things happen”;
- Strong communication and team player skills: ability to cooperate effectively with team members from other functions;
- Significant previous experience at Director/Senior management level in international production environment;
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred;
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment that is dynamic and quick to respond to customers’ needs;
- Strong working knowledge and ability to deploy all modern manufacturing techniques, coping with severe fluctuations in demand linearity;
- In depth knowledge and experience of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Six Sigma;
- Proven entrepreneurial approach, strategic thinking and strong decision making skills;
- Membership of an Industry related professional body would be an advantage;
- Fluency in English and Polish languages
- Experience in greenfield projects and new factory set-up would be an asset
